Open Shelter for Street Children (Girls) – Muktadhara (Under Mission Vatsalya)

The Open Shelter for Street Children (Girls) – Muktadhara, managed by Naihati New Life Society under the Mission Vatsalya scheme of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, provides a safe and nurturing environment for orphaned, abandoned, street-connected, and vulnerable girls aged 6–18 years.

With a residential capacity of 30 girls, the Shelter offers safe accommodation, nutritious meals, formal education, healthcare, counselling, life-skills training, and recreational activities to support the holistic development of every child. Since its inception, the Shelter has served nearly 500 vulnerable girls, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity, confidence, and hope.

The programme focuses on child protection, education, emotional well-being, family reintegration wherever possible, and preparing each child for a secure, self-reliant, and independent future, ensuring that every girl receives the care, love, and opportunities she deserves.
